Safety Training & Injector Port Casting

Loren is hosting safety training in the student shop today and we will be making green sand molds and casting injector ports today from 11am to 4pm.  Contact Loren or visit him in the student machine shop today to find out more information.  If you still need to be safety certified for the machine shop, contact him to plan out when you can do so.  Remember to have closed toed shoes, pants and safety glasses!

Continental Tires Sports Car Festival

Hornet Racing will be showing our most recent car, HR2012, at the Continental Tires Sports Car Festival featuring the Grand Am Rolex race car series.  Team members will be on hand along with Spartan Racing from San Jose State University at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this Friday through Sunday.  Stop by our booth and have a chat with the team!  More information can be found here.

Great Start To The Year

The second meeting of the semester saw the addition of 24 new people in addition to returning 2011-2012 members. We hope to continue that growth and introduce everyone to design, solid modeling, finite element analysis, manufacturing practices, public speaking, driving, marketing, community service, fundraising and teamwork while building a top ranked formula car.

Fall Semester Begins

Fall semester at Sac State starts today and the team has already been meeting biweekly this summer in preparation for the 2013 formula car in addition to all of the events we've attended.  General meetings will switch from Mondays @ 6pm to Thursdays at 6pm starting Thursday, August 30th. Come find out more information about Hornet Racing in Riverside 1003 at 6pm.  We're a student club that is open to all majors.

California State Fair Time!

Hornet Racing is currently displaying the 2012 formula car at the California State Fair in Sacramento.  It will be on display for the entire duration of the fair, July 12th – July 29th.  The previous years car will also be on display July 15th – 17th with students present to answer questions and encourage younger fair attendees to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
